I had it, from a long time ago. My ex bought it for me. And I didn't wanna watch it. I did. And that passage shocked me a lot. I love Gillian's acting, she's just, and she knows instinctively what to do, she certainly was born for that. Then personally, it's another story. But i'm trying to remain objective, and I found her really good. And, Seldon? All the girls I've heard, or read, it was like, Seldon is such a sweetheart. Pardon me? Seldon is, whatever the century, the biggest coward ever. Do you see her in that scene? She tells him alarming things. Any of my friends telling me that, and crying so much, I wouldn't let them go out of my place. I had the case, and I didn't let go of him then. And he has a very full life now. Seldon is just a very happy single man, daydreaming about a woman, but not a doer enough to see what's wrong and really take care of her .He's a teenage adult, able to steal kisses from her, but not to comfort her at the worst. Pardon me, but you can't say you love someone, and let it go so easily. I heard also that Lily wasn't strong enough. For a woman in that century, and that status, going to that point for so long, I think she was really courageous. Then, yes, she doesn't say things clearly, but it's clear enough to me. Maybe not anyone can hear that? I'm asking, I don't know. Things are supposed to have changed. It's not exactly the same sure. But see, women fight the more, are less paid for the same job, have the little jobs (85% of them in my country have the little jobs). And men, what do they do? Most of them enjoy the situation. Not all of them. Some are good people. But honeslty, except forced marriage, what has really changed?
I had read the book. I preferred the book, in terms of story, but I was more touched by the characters, and understood better the whole dimension watching the movie, with real people. It's still a good movie, I found it really interesting. I've read other authors, of the same period, with women having troubles like that. And , huh, yeah, I honestly don't think many things have changed. But strong women are still there. I cried watching that movie. Not because she died (yes a little), but because it's such a waste. And it's still nowadays such a waste. Really powerful anyway. I don't understand why Gillian was criticized to accept that role. And i read some things lol that she was too fat? People are weird. How much can she weight then 115 pounds? Of course, if it's to look like all these 6' girls, eating nothing, like 6' and less than 100 pounds was natural. You know what? I think there's really a problem there.
Just see that, you'll tell me what you think.
